Description of  Flakiness gauge:

A Flakiness gauge is a tool used to measure the flakiness of aggregate, which is a key property for its use in construction materials like asphalt and concrete. Flaky particles are undesirable because they can break easily under pressure, leading to weaker pavements and structures.

There are two main types of best Flakiness gauge:

• Slotted gauges: These gauges have a series of slots with different widths, corresponding to different percentages of the nominal size of the aggregate particle. Particles that can pass through a slot are considered flaky.
  
• Thickness gauges: These gauges have a single slot with a specific width, typically corresponding to 0.6 times the nominal size of the aggregate particle. Particles that can pass through the slot are considered flaky.
