The ALPK2 blood pressure machine & stethoscope combination is a manual sphygmomanometer used to measure blood pressure at home or in clinical settings.

Description:

• Blood pressure machine:
  • Aneroid gauge with a calibrated scale to display systolic and diastolic pressure.
  • Manual inflation bulb with air release valve.
  • Standard adult-size arm cuff made of cotton or nylon.
  • May or may not come with a carrying case.
• Stethoscope:
  • Y-shaped tubing with binaural headset and chest piece.
  • Single or double headpiece for auscultation of Korotkoff sounds.
  • Latex-free materials preferred.

How to use of ALPK2 blood pressure machine & stethoscope:

Before using:

• Read the manufacturer’s instructions carefully.
• Ensure the cuff size is appropriate for your arm circumference.
• Sit comfortably with your arm supported at heart level.
• Rest for 5 minutes before taking a measurement.

Taking a measurement:

1. Wrap the cuff snugly around your bare upper arm, about an inch above the elbow crease.
2. Position the stethoscope bell over the brachial artery, just inside the elbow crease.
3. Close the air release valve on the bulb.
4. Slowly squeeze the bulb to inflate the cuff until the pressure gauge reading exceeds your expected systolic pressure.
5. Listen for the Korotkoff sounds through the stethoscope:
   • First sound (tapping): Systolic pressure (when sound appears).
   • Muffled sound: Diastolic pressure (when sound disappears).
6. Slowly release the air from the cuff by opening the valve and listen for the sounds to fade.
7. Record the systolic and diastolic pressure readings, along with your pulse rate.
8. Repeat the measurement after 1-2 minutes for accuracy.
