Liquid Limit Device classification:

The classification of soils  use for in high way design, the liquid limit and the plasticity index are the most important. The plasticity index gives the best measure of the plasticity in the soil. It is the difference between the liquid limit and the plastic limit. The Liquid Limit is the water content at which the soil changes from the liquid state to a plastic state. It is the minimum moisture content at which a soil flows upon application of very small shear force.
